My Role: Graphic Designer & Illustrator

The Goal
Develop a logo and branding identity using the icons of “raven” and “skeleton key”. Logo must work for digital and print applications as well as for a “marker’s mark” stamp for signing ceramic work.

The Obstacles
The client had existing logo designs that they were not happy with that featured the requesting imagery of “raven” and “key”. We explored reasons why the other logos were not meeting the client’s expectations, what type of identity the client was looking to express and looked further their branding and marketing goals.

The Details

  • Develop new iteration of the “raven” and “key” motifs that better expresses the client’s marketing goals.

  • Use type and color to further develop the client’s aesthetic preferences, creating a gothic inspired identity that does not feel too dark.

  • Develop the original request of logo creation into a more comprehensive branding identity that the client can refer to and use as they further build out their brand.
